OBJECTIVES
- Define what is Nature and explore what is Nature-Based Therapy.
- Identify several ways Nature-Based metaphors can support therapeutic goals, including emotional expression, insight development, and meaning-making.
- Explore and participate in at least 3 different activities that help to elicit Nature-Based metaphors that support clinical outcomes.
SUMMARY
Nature-Based metaphors can provide powerful opportunities for clients to explore their healing journey that feels accessible, meaningful, and embodied. This presentation will introduce participants to the concepts of Nature and Nature-Based Therapy while exploring how Nature can serve as a source of metaphor, reflection, and clinical intervention. Attendees will learn how Nature-Based metaphors can support therapeutic goals such as emotional expression, insight development, meaning-making, and resilience-building. Through experiential activities and guided reflection, participants will engage in practical techniques for eliciting and cultivating Nature-Based metaphors that can be integrated into a variety of clinical settings and populations.
