Consultation & Supervision

If you’ve wandered to this part of Grow With Nature’s digital forest, I, Alice (she/they), want to personally welcome you. Hello! I am a playful neurospicy queer human with chronic illness living in Portland, Oregon. I am inherently curious, seek opportunities to laugh, and love to “yes, and…” life whenever I am able. I enjoy helping others rekindle and deepen their own authentic relationship with Nature.
I’m glad you’re exploring whether I might be the right guide for this stage of your journey. I am passionate about providing opportunities for growth and self-discovery within your career path, within a safe and supportive consultant/supervisor relationship.
Finding the right professional consultant or supervisor is like finding your preferred flower, sure there are several other flowers to choose from, but you know when you find a flower you like the most that best meets your needs.
So, let me further describe what I can offer you as a supervisor/consultant to see if I’m the right fit for you. You can also schedule a free 30-minute Meet & Greet with me.
People regularly ask me, “How did you become trained in Nature-Based Therapy?” The surprisingly simple answer is because of my chronic illness I’ve had to learn how to slow down, including in my relationship with Nature. This slower pace fostered deeper attunement to help me listen to the teachings of Nature Beings beyond humans. I’ve also pulled a lot from the improv classes I’ve taken over the years that have helped me learn how to “yes, and…” Nature. Some of my favorite teachers include trees, the river, my cats, crows, and the weather. Now, through Grow With Nature, I want to help others find their personal Nature Being teachers by teaching the skills of how to deepen their ability to attune to Nature.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (2016) working with clients ages 7 and up through adults, including offering individual, couples, and family therapy. I specialize in working with neurodivergent populations, as well as helping people process their trauma, and tend to incorporate an experiential and eclectic approach tailored to my client’s needs. As a therapist, I views myself as a knowledgeable hiking companion collaborating with the client on their preferred journey, and not simply as a guide dictating the path of personal healing. I have worked in several environments including a juvenile justice system, intensive outpatient in the community, and outpatient settings that offer a more experiential approach.
I am an AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor (2021), and enjoy supporting other therapists, from interns to licensed providers. As a clinical supervisor, I love not only helping therapists support clients in an ethical and client-centered way, but also supporting the professional in identifying ways to make their therapy practice sustainable and restorative.
I have also worked with several different staff groups, offering tailored learning and restorative experiential activities to further promote connection. I am an endless sea of ideas for how to support staff learning and wellness.

What I can offer you as a consultant/supervisor may include:
ꕤ Ways to further incorporate Nature within your practice by learning how to more readily “yes, and…” what Nature already offers you within your relationship. ꕤ
ꕤ Individual and group opportunities tailored to your specific needs, whether it be supervision to grow your identity as a therapist, or consultation to navigate next steps in your career. ꕤ
ꕤ How to navigate incorporating outdoor opportunities for the people you work with in an ethical and trauma informed approach. ꕤ
ꕤ Experiential teaching tailored to your specific needs, including the potential for incorporating outdoor opportunities to learn and play. Topics will be taught from a Nature Centered perspective and may include: trauma-informed approaches, understanding neurodivergence, mindfulness, fostering healthy work/life balance, communication, and navigating different systems. ꕤ
If you’ve read this far and are still interested in working together, even if you’re not quite sure exactly how, I’d love to meet you! Please schedule a free 30-minute Meet & Greet to further discuss what ideas you may have.
