Consultation & Supervision
Hello human, I’m Alice (she/they)! I am a playful neurospicy queer human with chronic illness living in Portland, Oregon. I am an LMFT in OR and WA and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. I have experience working with clients ages 7 and up through adults, including offering individual, couples, and family therapy. I am inherently curious, seek opportunities to laugh, and love to “yes, and…” life whenever I am able. I enjoy helping others rekindle and deepen their own authentic relationship with Nature.
I’m glad you’re exploring whether I might be the right guide for this stage of your journey. I am passionate about providing opportunities for growth and self-discovery within your career path, within a safe and supportive consultant/supervisor relationship.
Finding the right professional consultant or supervisor is like finding your preferred flower, sure there are several other flowers to choose from, but you know when you find a flower you like the most that best meets your needs.
So, let me further describe what I can offer you as a supervisor/consultant to see if I’m the right fit for you. You can also schedule a free 30-minute Meet & Greet with me.
Alternatively, let me know if you’re interested in joining one of my group supervisions!
My supervision approach is rooted in self-of-the-therapist work, recognizing that the most powerful clinical tool you bring into the room is you. I work with interns through seasoned professionals. While clinical skills and interventions matter, research and lived experience consistently show that the therapeutic relationship is the most influential factor in client outcomes.
In supervision, we focus on cultivating an authentic therapist identity, one that integrates your lived experiences, values, nervous system, and relational style with your preferred theoretical orientation(s). Rather than asking you to fit into a rigid model, supervision becomes a space to explore how theory comes alive through you, allowing your approach to feel embodied, ethical, and sustainable. Supervision may also include how to integrate Nature-Based practices, developing ethical ways to do outside sessions, and/or nurturing business practices for a thriving private practice.
Together, we explore how your personal history, identities, emotional responses, and internal narratives shape your work with clients. Countertransference, intuition, and moments of resonance or rupture are approached as meaningful sources of clinical information that can deepen connection and attunement.
People regularly ask me, “How did you become trained in Nature-Based Therapy?” The surprisingly simple answer is because of my chronic illness I’ve had to learn how to slow down, including in my relationship with Nature. This slower pace fostered deeper attunement to help me listen to the teachings of Nature Beings beyond humans. I’ve also pulled a lot from the improv classes I’ve taken over the years that have helped me learn how to “yes, and…” Nature. Some of my favorite teachers include trees, the river, my cats, crows, and the weather. Now, through Grow With Nature, I want to help others find their personal Nature Being teachers by teaching the skills of how to deepen their ability to attune to Nature. In addition to supervision, I can also offer professional consultation and staff support. I have worked with a wide range of staff groups, providing tailored learning opportunities and restorative, experiential activities designed to foster connection and collective staff well-being. I bring a deep well of creative ideas to support staff learning, care, and sustainability.
What I can offer you as a consultant or supervisor may include:
Ways to further incorporate Nature within your practice by learning how to more readily “yes, and…” what Nature already offers you within your relationship.
Individual and group opportunities tailored to your specific needs, whether it be supervision to grow your identity as a therapist, or consultation to navigate next steps in your career.
Collaborative professional support to help streamline business planning, enhance communication, navigate problem solving, set professional goals, etc.
How to navigate incorporating outdoor opportunities for the people you work with in an ethical and trauma informed approach.
Experiential teaching tailored to your specific needs, including the potential for incorporating outdoor opportunities to learn and play. Topics will be taught from a Nature Centered perspective and may include: trauma-informed approaches, understanding neurodivergence, mindfulness, fostering healthy work/life balance, communication, and navigating different systems.
If you’ve read this far and are still interested in working together, even if you’re not quite sure exactly how, I’d love to meet you! Please schedule a free 30-minute Meet & Greet to further discuss what ideas you may have.
